South Africa’s URC teams were in fine form on home turf this past weekend, keeping momentum strong as the season heads toward the final stretch.
South Africa (31 March 2026) – South Africa’s United Rugby Championship sides were in full flow this past weekend. And the result was a clean sweep at home that had fans smiling across the country.
All four local teams stepped up, each delivering strong performances to make it a memorable round of action.
Sharks vs Cardiff
The Sharks got things started in Durban, taking on Cardiff Rugby in a tightly contested encounter. It wasn’t always smooth sailing, with a few handling errors creeping in, but the Sharks showed enough composure and attacking intent to come out on top and keep themselves in the playoff conversation.

Bulls vs Munster
In Pretoria, the Bulls were involved in one of the standout clashes of the round against Munster Rugby. It was a high-intensity battle that went down to the wire, with the Bulls holding their nerve in the closing stages to secure a valuable result in front of their home crowd.

Lions vs Dragons
Over in Johannesburg, the Lions delivered an energetic performance against Dragons RFC. Playing with confidence and attacking freedom, they made the most of their chances and continued their strong run of form at home.

Stormers vs Edinburgh
And in Cape Town, the Stormers wrapped up the perfect weekend with a composed display against Edinburgh Rugby. Their ability to control the game and take key opportunities saw them maintain their push near the top of the standings.
With the competition taking a short break before the next round, South Africa’s teams will head into it with confidence, knowing they’ve made the most of home advantage.
