From East London to Wuhan, six-year-old Linani is putting South African talent on the global stage with her energy, creativity, and stage presence

Wuhan, China (20 October 2025) – South Africa’s youngest ambassadors of talent are proving age is no barrier, and Linani Luncumo Potwana is leading the charge. The six-year-old model and dancer from the Eastern Cape recently stole the spotlight at the prestigious IPA All-Star Contest in Wuhan, China, leaving audiences around the world in awe.

Representing South Africa with poise, Linani’s performance showcased her energy, creativity, and stage presence, putting a global spotlight on African talent and artistry. Among contestants from more than 40 countries, her confident performance stood out, earning admiration from fans, fellow performers, and social media alike.

South Africans have flooded online platforms with messages of pride, celebrating her as an inspiration for the next generation of dancers daring to dream big.

Earlier this year, Linani began turning heads in the fashion world. It’s absolutely impressive, considering she started modelling at four years old and has already walked international runways, including Shanghai Children Fashion Week, wearing couture and proudly representing South African talent abroad. Linani’s career continues to gain momentum, with opportunities across dance, fashion, and performance opening doors to the global stage.

At just six years old, Linani’s journey is a testament to believing in oneself. Her story proves that South African youth are ready to take on the world. One stage at a time.
