The newest addition arrived just as the couple celebrated one year of marriage.

Johannesburg, South Africa (26 March 2026) – Natasha and her hubby Enrico are celebrating the birth of their first child!

The former Miss South Africa shared the happy news of their newest addition with her followers yesterday.

“At 41 weeks & 2 days, 30 hours of labour, she’s finally here. Our greatest, biggest blessing- Klein Vermaakie.” she wrote online.

The little bundle of love arrived just after the couple celebrated their first year of marriage in March. The pair tied the knot in the Cape winelands in March last year. Months later, the beauty queen revealed that she was pregnant.

Natasha, who was the first Miss South Afrca to get engaged during her reign, has been open about her journey of becoming a mom on social media. From surprising Enrico with the news of her pregnancy to a charming gender reveal and glimpses at an all-pink baby shower, along with the nesting period that followed.

“For months my body became more than just mine. It became a shelter, a protector, a place where a tiny life could grow safely. And for that, I will forever be proud of her.” she wrote.

The happy couple have upheld long-term love, having first got together as high school sweethearts in 2015.

“10 years ago my husband asked me to be his girlfriend,” shared Natasha last year. “We were at his grandmother’s house, and Enrico said he has to give her garden water, a while later I wondered what was taking so long and walked out, there was a little picnic, KFC, Fanta Orange and since that day inseparable.” she added.

Even without a crown, former Miss South Africa Mia le Roux is still leading by example and proving that representation lies in being confident in what makes you stand out.

South Africa (25 February 2026) – The South African beauty recently opened up about the inner work it took in embracing her voice, and why she refuses to be silenced by online bullies.

It’s a message that perhaps we all need to hear…

Throughout her historic reign as Miss South Africa, Mia taught us that being ‘differently-abled’ isn’t a limitation, it’s a superpower.

Many will know that she became the first hearing-impaired woman to wear the Miss South Africa crown. Under that spotlight, she brought awareness to the challenges that differently-abled people face, often not considered in public spaces where abled people are the majority.

But even for a queen, the internet can sometimes be a frightening, nasty place.

Mia’s recent message online drew attention to a challenge many might not even realise she faces. The sound of her own voice. She admitted that for a long time that she hesitated to let anyone actually hear her speak.

“There was a time I never wanted anyone online to hear my voice,” she shared. “I did a lot of inner work and decided that the only way people will get used to my accent is by being exposed to it.”

For those with hearing impairments, tone and volume control can influence what a person’s ‘accent’ sounds like.

“I don’t know what everyone else hears when I speak. My mom has lovingly told me that it’s really not bad, that I just don’t necessarily always have the right tone and volume control. I could live with that. But every time I speak online or to the public it always feels like a little wild trust game. And people are friendly most of the time, especially to my face.”

She wasn’t immune to the sometimes hurtful comments that inevitably trickled through the internet. Mia recalled instances where people ‘politely’ suggested she shouldn’t do voiceovers, which left her wondering if they were actually just being back-handedly mean.

“Were they trying to say that my voice is bad in a nice way? And still to this day it sometimes will just itch me out of nowhere. A comment I always remember with a sense of cringe when I get requested to do a voiceover. And this is one of many ambiguous comments.”

Instead of giving into that negativity (and words can hurt like knives), Mia, ever the champion of inclusivity, chooses a different path. One that lifts her voice up even higher.

“I always come to the same conclusion, the only way others will get used to it, is if I use it. I want to show it is okay to sound different.” she says. “Visibility is uncomfortable sometimes.
But exposure creates normalisation. And representation doesn’t happen in silence.”

During her reign – which ultimately saw her pass the baton to Qhawekazi Mazaleni last year – Mia faced a whirlwind of public scrutiny. From her withdrawal from Miss Universe to the ‘trolls’ who questioned her relationship with music as someone who is hearing-impaired.

“I was never angry. I was confused. I was navigating something new as this really became a thing during my reign with many hurtful comments online as well as many ambiguous comments to my face.”

Through it all, she maintained that empowerment happens by speaking up. Her voice became her most impactful tool.

Mia reminded us today that ‘normal’ is such a relative term. By choosing to do voiceovers on her videos, speak at events, and share her life authentically, she is dismantling the hurtful stigma surrounding hearing-impaired speech patterns. That representation means everything to the next generation of young girls who are hard-of-hearing or differently-abled.

She admits that some days she still feels confused or hurt by the comments, but that doesn’t stop her from using her voice.

“Some days I just want to hide behind my pillow. But most days I choose to be heard, because on days like this I am reminded that the same God who created this universe also created me.” she shared.

And that’s the message we all need to hear today. Our ‘accents’ – whether physical or metaphorical – are what make our stories worth listening to.

Miss SA, Qhawekazi Mazaleni, recently turned a typical morning at Monde Primary into a world of wonder by reading to them from her isiXhosa children’s book ‘Amasele Amdaka’.

East Rand, South Africa (18 February 2026) – Stories are the very heartbeat of our heritage. World Read Aloud Month (WRAM) arrives not just as a celebration, but as a vital intervention to ensure this heartbeat remains alive.

As South Africa grapples with a literacy crisis, where hundreds of Grade 4 learners still struggle to read for basic meaning, WRAM literacy programmes and school visits offer more than just a pleasant day of storytelling. They provide a glimmer of hope for our reading culture – in languages our children understand.

Joining the WRAD movement was the adored Miss South Africa and Empower Youth Africa (EYA) Ambassador, Qhawekazi Mazaleni. She recently paid a visit to Monde Primary School in the East Rand, where she read from her isiXhosa children’s book Amasele Amdaka as part of her ongoing literacy outreach focused on mother-tongue learning, early language development, and access to education.

Welcomed with vibrant performances, she encouraged learners to dream boldly, value education, and embrace the power of mother-tongue storytelling.

“In all honesty, this was such a rewarding day. We started off the day with a sit-down conversation with the principal. He actually attended this school when he was younger, and he’s been able to watch it develop and grow throughout the years. We also touched on the mother tongue-based bilingual learning and how it helps shape learning in the classroom,” Qhawekazi shared.

The process of translating her book is already underway to ensure more children can enjoy the contents of its pages. Qhawekazi is a proud advocate for inclusive education, and she added that as a speech therapist, it is deeply important to her to advocate for early reading and learning resources.

“There is strong scientific evidence that mother-tongue instruction plays a critical role in shaping academic success,” she says.

Through Empower Youth Africa, she continues to champion access to education and youth empowerment, one school at a time.

By bringing vibrant, multilingual narratives directly into schools and classrooms, such initiatives transform reading from a daunting academic hurdle into a shared, joyful adventure.

A night celebrating people with special needs led to a phone call that neither of them could end. Before Demi-Leigh Tebow and Tim Tebow ever met face to face, they were already connected by compassion.

South Africa (12 February 2026) – Before they ever met in person, Demi-Leigh Tebow says she already knew.

“Something has to go terribly wrong for this not to work out,” she remembers thinking — a line Tim Tebow still recalls from those early days.

Their story didn’t start with romance; it started with Franje.

Demi-Leigh’s late younger sister, Franje, was born with an extremely rare condition called cerebellar agenesis, meaning she was born without a cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for motor control, coordination, attention and aspects of language. Living without it can bring profound developmental delays and physical challenges.

Franje shaped Demi’s world long before Tim entered the picture. She taught her about patience, inclusion and what it means to truly see someone.

A post shared by Tim Tebow (@timtebow)

Tragically, Franje passed away in 2019. But her impact didn’t end there. In many ways, the compassion and advocacy that define Demi’s life, and her marriage, are part of Franje’s legacy.

When Demi learned about Tim’s initiative those many years ago, their paths crossed.

Through the Tim Tebow Foundation, Tim founded Night to Shine, an annual worldwide ‘prom’ for people with special needs. The night celebrates guests as kings and queens, giving them the kind of joy, recognition and dignity that is so often missing.

Tim heard about Franje and reached out through his foundation to invite her to America for the event.

After emailing back and forth with Demi, the two of them hopped on a phone call, and the rest is history. A quick ‘five to ten minute call’ lasted two hours, 24 minutes. Tim remembers it down to the second.

“Here comes this American guy that loves people just like my little sister and puts up an event that makes people like her feel seen and loved and valued.” shared Demi in sharing their story with The Skinny Confidential.

That mattered more than anything to Demi. Meeting someone whose heart was already shaped by loving a sister like Franje changed everything for Tim, too.

Their relationship grew from shared purpose. Now, the couple have been married for more than six years and welcomed their first child in July last year. Together they’ve become a ‘power couple’ for good.

Night to Shine is coming up soon. It takes place this Friday on 13 February. The event will stretch across 63 countries at 822 churches with over 107,000 guests. This year, Cape Town’s Kings of Kings Baptist Church and Bay City Church will host the ‘prom night’ locally.

Former Miss South Africa and Miss Universe – now published author, advocate, and mom – Demi-Liegh Tebow reflects back on the year when everything changed.

Florida, United States (30 January 2026) – ‘2016 is the new 2026’

The trend of looking back a decade has everyone scrolling their archives and reflecting on past versions of themselves.

Some of us were living our best lives – Good Things Guy included, we just turned 1. Some of us were facing loss, grief, uncertainty and struggle. Some of us were working toward a reality that now actually exists. Some of us never dreamed that life would look this way.

Reflecting on what life looked like for her back then, Demi-Leigh Tebow says it was transformative. It’s the year she earned her degree in business management and entrepreneurship, and it’s the year she put her all into becoming Miss South Africa.

“It was the year I entered the Miss South Africa pageant that would change my life forever…I was in my final year of university and worked in modeling to pay for my pageant coach and wardrobe to compete in Miss SA,” shares Demi-Leigh.

In the lead up to her ultimately winning Miss SA, she juggled the stress of final year studies, competing in the pageant and work.

“Competing in Miss SA honestly felt like a full time job. I remember driving 2 hours to make it to my graduation after a Miss SA activation and then drove 3 hours to make it in time to the next activation,” writes Demi-Leigh. “We were part of so many events for sponsors of the pageant and each one felt like a judging session. I remember just always being ‘on’…I never took off my high heels…Sometimes for 12+ hours a day. I just always wanted to be ready.”

She became a professional juggler. But she also went on to snatch her degree, scoop a crown, and then win Miss Universe – marking a first for South Africa since Margaret Gardiner earned the title in 1978.

Now, Demi-Leigh lives in the US with her husband, Tim. She recently became a mom, and her career has blossomed – published author, speaker, entrepreneur, and an advocate for women’s empowerment and the fight against human trafficking. A lot can happen in ten years!

“I’m so grateful for the opportunities that came my way during this season,” she added.

After days of soaking it all up, the beauty queen thought she could get through a full day without crying. That’s until she received a message from her dad that brought back the waterworks.

Johannesburg, South Africa (31 October 2025) – It’s been a week wrapped in love for Qhawekazi Mazaleni after she was named Miss South Africa in Pretoria last weekend. Not only for Qhawekazi, but for her loved ones too. The people who have supported her all along.

Becoming Miss SA comes with an outpouring of support from many South Africans who are proud of their new queen. Qhawekazi has gotten it from all angles this week. Receiving all the support has understandably made her very emotional. Her happy cries have spanned the stage where Mia first handed down the crown, to radio interviews where her gratitude for friends, family and supporters has brought her to tears.

After days of soaking it all up, the beauty queen thought she could get through a full day without crying. That’s until she received a message from her dad that brought back the waterworks…

His work colleagues had thrown him a party to celebrate Qhawekazi’s big achievement. The video of him arriving at work to discover the surprise is everything. First there is happy tears, and then there is dancing.

@qhawemazaleni I only know of a fraction of the sacrifices you made for us. They’ve been so silent and your love so so loud. Enkosi Tata ❤ #MissSA2025 #CouragePurposeTransformatiom #EmpowerYouthAfrica ♬ What Was I Made For? (Epilogue) [Instrumental Version] – Mark Ronson & Andrew Wyatt

Qhawekazi posted the video to social media, with gratitude for her dad.

“I only know of a fraction of the sacrifices you made for us. They’ve been so silent and your love so so loud. Enkosi Tata,” she wrote.

Commenters flooded the post with support, sharing that her dad is celebrating that everyone sees what he has always known – his daughter’s endless potential.

Another reason to clap for every single girl dad that has been present, supportive and encouraged his daughter to dream.

The moment Qhawekazi Mazaleni was crowned the new Miss South Africa, her victory became a beautiful, shared family triumph – especially for her biggest cheerleader, her sister, Homba Mazaleni!

Johannesburg, South Africa (28 October 2025) – There’s a unique warmth in having our achievements celebrated by those we love. These are the moments when we feel truly seen, cherished, and embraced by people whose journeys are closely woven with our own.

Such heartfelt support was beautifully on display following the announcement of our new Miss South Africa, Qhawekazi Mazaleni. Her sister, Homba, has been celebrating her win with infectious pride across social media – an outpouring of joy that has been heartwarming to witness.

Just moments after the glitzy crowning night, Homba shared videos of her family over the moon over Qhawekazi’s win, still reeling from a dream come true.

“At this point, reality is better than dreaming,” she shared in a separate video, admitting that she didn’t even know how to contain her joy and pride at her sister’s accomplishment.

What makes Homba’s reaction especially heartwarming is her grace and sheer happiness, despite having walked a similar path, as she too was a Miss South Africa finalist who made it to the Top 5 in 2023. She highlighted that Qhawekazi’s victory is the culmination of almost 16 years of their household raising and moulding three powerful daughters, preparing for this moment.

Social media users were deeply moved by Homba’s selfless support and celebrated the beautiful bond between the sisters.

“Thembakazi, Hombakazi, Qhawekazi… such beautiful names! It’s so beautiful to see you loudly supporting your sister and being so overjoyed by her wins! She must even be more proud to call you her sister,” one person commented.

While another wrote:

“You should add to your bio, ‘Miss South Africa’s sister’ because woooow! You were and are her biggest cheerleader.”

Every queen deserves a hype woman like Homba! This sisterly love is just wholesome and a reminder that while the win is amazing, having a cheerleader beside you makes it all the more worthwhile.

Another baby on the way! Miss South Africa 2023 is expecting her first child. She’s over halfway through her pregnancy, and the glow is real.

Cape Town, South Africa (28 October 2025) – Months after a fairytale Cape Town wedding, former Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert has shared some exciting news. She and her hubby, Enrico, are expecting a baby!

The couple, who tied the knot in March, have been keeping the precious secret under wraps for five months. They revealed the news this week, along with a dazzling little composition of clips from a sunset beach photoshoot, baby bump in tow.

“The last 5 months… we’ve been keeping the sweetest secret,” shared Vermaak, along with clips from the shoot.

The news comes just a month after the couple celebrated 10 years in love!

“10 years ago my husband asked me to be his girlfriend,” shared Natasha. “We were at his grandmother’s house, and Enrico said he has to give her garden water, a while later I wondered what was taking so long and walked out, there was a little picnic, KFC, Fanta Orange and since that day inseparable. My sakkie ek’s lief vir jou!” she added.

The next chapter is especially exciting as they get to embark on the journey as parents together.

We’d like to add that, throughout the excitement of Miss South Africa in these last weeks, the beauty queen, five months pregnant, has made it look easy!

Just a few days ago, she played host on the red carpet for the pageant’s grand finale, where she rocked multiple looks without dropping any hints of a baby bump hidden beneath the glam.

Former Miss SA Mia le Roux’s groom-to-be, Luke, is her biggest supporter. He’s held her hand, done up her zips and buttons, and remained a rock through one of her biggest chapters.

South Africa (27 October 2025) – Sunday marked the start of a new chapter for Miss South Africa, as the nationwide beauty pageant crowned its new queen.

But also for Mia le Roux, who has gracefully stepped down from her title as Miss SA 2024.

Mia wore the crown for 14 months, in her barrier-breaking reign as the first-ever hearing-impaired woman to win Miss South Africa. She’s lived up to her goals of speaking up for those hard-of-hearing, showing up for deaf communities, and starting conversations that support disabled people.

Stepping into a role where representation matters can also be exhausting. But facing outwards, Mia’s grace has sparkled.

Her fiancé, Luke ten Oever, has walked the journey with her. He’s the first to notice her grace. He also honours every tough battle she’s fought along the way.

He shared the most wholesome message for Mia, after she passed the crown to Qhawe Mazaleni on Saturday:

“It’s been such a privilege to stand on the sidelines, cheering you on and supporting you when it mattered most. It’s true that not all good things are meant to be easy, yet you made it look effortless with your light, tenacity and infectious smile. You continue to teach me about life, love, patience and how precious every moment shared with the people you love truly is,” he said.

“Now that the whole of South Africa has seen what I’ve always known about you, why I fell in love with you, and why I keep falling deeper every day,” writes Luke. “I’ll continue to support you until the sun dies out, just as I know you’ll do the same for me. Here’s to the next chapter of our lives, side by side, always and forever.

Mia’s appreciation for her beau is just as swoon-worthy.

“Thank you for holding my hand, for helping me to reframe anxiety into excitement. For doing up all the buttons on my [Anel Botha] gown when everyone was too busy, for carrying my water and my purse. Just thank you for everything. My absolute rock and steadiness through the storm,” she wrote in response.

The couple announced their engagement in July earlier this year, in their third year together. Their love deserves a nod, but Mia’s exit from the pageant also deserves a clap.

Her ‘end-of-chapter’ post on social media had SA holding back tears.

“At four years old, I spoke my very first sentence: ‘Look there, white clouds,’” she said, “I didn’t know then the deep symbolic meaning of hope those words would carry throughout my life. And as I take my final walk tonight, I do so knowing that the little girl who once looked up and said, ‘Look there, white clouds,’ is now walking beneath them, no longer searching for hope, but carrying it within her,” she wrote.

Before Qhawekazi earned her crown as Miss South Africa on Saturday, she was already all about spreading hope through books and belief.

Pretoria, South Africa (26 October 2025) – Last night at the SunBet in Pretoria, the 67th Miss South Africa finale rolled out the glamour in an evening that would culminate in celebration, as South Africa found its new Miss SA.

Out of nine dazzling finalists who competed for the title, it was 24-year-old Qhawekazi Mazaleni from Gonubie, East London, who took the crown from outgoing queen Mia le Roux. Luyanda Zuma was named First Princess and Karabo Mareka Second Princess.

“My heart is so incredibly full. Thank you so so much, I am so incredibly lost for words, but my heart is filled with gratitude,” shared Qhawekazi, after receiving her crown.

Qhawekazi has always had her heart in the right place.

She holds a degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Therapy from Stellenbosch University and is currently busy with a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology through the University of Pretoria, focusing on autism.

She’s fluent in isiXhosa, English and Afrikaans, and is currently learning Sepedi and isiZulu – which already says a lot about how she thinks. She believes that access and language matter and the more ways we can connect with each other, the better.

Her focus has been crystal clear, long before she entered the pageant.

The beauty queen is all brains. Qhawekazi is big on education, representation and practical tools that help children learn. She’s run with that mission, and in fact has already published an isiXhosa children’s book that teaches reading and counting.

As she’s said before, “Young women don’t always have role models within their own communities to look up to and see themselves reflected; representation gives them permission to dream.”

When you consider how many children in South Africa don’t have books in their home language, it’s a mission that holds so much purpose. Qhawekazi wants to shift that, not only by distributing books but by helping families and teachers create resources with what they have.

Her belief in the power of stories (and in telling them in the languages we live in) is core to what she wants to build.

“Through my initiative for increasing access to books I hope to find and share stories that celebrate our cultures, languages and traditions and foster a generation with cultural awareness,” she shares.

It also really helps that her academic world meets her advocacy. Speech-language therapy is about closing gaps so children can thrive in the classroom and outside of it.

We love that Qhawekazi has made it clear that pageantry, for her, is a platform to get practical. She’s outspoken about the reality that many young people battle hopelessness when they look at the stats, and she wants to meet that with visible, measurable action.

It’s going to be a year of making things happen.
