Turning green into gold, entries to this year’s Eco-Logic Awards have opened.

South Africa (07 April 2026) – Heads up to all eco-innovators, sustainability champions and earth-kind heroes across South Africa – the Eco-Logic Awards 2026 are officially open for entries!

Now in their 15th year, the Eco-Logic Awards are South Africa’s most loved celebration of the people, projects and businesses finding smarter, kinder and better ways to look after our planet. From water-saving technologies to circular fashion and community-driven conservation, these awards exist to find the change-makers and make sure their work gets the spotlight it deserves.

Africa’s social impact economy is currently worth an estimated $96 billion annually and supports around 12 million jobs, with South Africans playing a huge role in driving that forward. Every innovative solution, every community project, every eco-conscious business is part of something far bigger.

Last year, Pure Flow Amanzi took silver for a gravity-fed water filtration system, bringing clean, safe drinking water to rural communities. Up-Cycled Cloth Collective took gold for transforming discarded textiles into fashion that people love. More on that here.

Backed over the years by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment and a host of leading corporate partners, the awards recognise Gold, Silver and Bronze winners across 12 categories including Climate Change, Water Conservation, Circular Economy and Waste Innovation, Eco-Fashion and Lifestyle, Eco-Innovation, and Eco-Communities.

Entry is completely free and open to individuals, organisations, businesses and community groups. Submissions close at the end of June 2026, and this year’s celebration takes place on 5 October (World Habitat Day) at the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town, with the brilliant Themba Robin back as MC.

If you’re doing the work, go show it off. Head here to enter or find out more.

When the petrol price hits hard, you’ve gotta get creative, and Themba Robin has just taken “fuel-efficient travel” to a hilariously new level!

Johannesburg, South Africa (06 April 2026) – Tough times are inevitable, but if there’s one thing about South Africans, it’s their ability to find humour in almost any situation, inviting everyone to join in the laughter.

Many are aware that there’s been a lot happening abroad in the political sphere, and we empathise with those severely affected by the global conflicts unfolding in our time.

Recently, South Africa has felt the impact of heightened risks in global energy markets, leading to record-high fuel prices and a shared sense of unease among us all.

But as mentioned, we manage to cope with the doom and gloom through humour. Giving us the giggles recently was Comedic Content Creator, Themba Robin, who recently posted a hilarious skit showing his creative new approach to e-hailing without the stress of needing fuel.

In the amusing video, he’s seen pushing a wheelbarrow with Uber branding and stopping to pick up his next client for their ride, who was more than happy to hop in and be pushed to their destination.

“Petrol prices got us doing what we need to do to get by,” Themba shared playfully in the post’s caption.

It was witty, relevant and had the people laughing out loud!

“Do we pay in steps?” Marilet Swanepoel hilariously asked.

“The way he’s checking the number plate before he jumps in,” observed Siobhan Noelle Roy.

“Going to build it tomorrow to pick up a wheelbarrow,” Garret Van Der Walt joked.

The post has hit over one million views on Facebook, and there’s no wonder why! Thank you for the clever solution (hopefully one we won’t have to resort to) and, most importantly, for bringing us plenty of laughs when we needed them most, Themba.

Themba Robin’s latest video taps into the universal challenge of becoming a functioning member of society after December, showing the difference in energy when leaving for vacation versus coming back in January.

South Africa (07 January 2026) – January has officially reminded everyone that December energy does not transfer into the new year.

South African comedian Themba Robin summed up the struggle perfectly in a video about logging back into work after the festive break. One moment, it’s a closed laptop, ready yo go on holiday. Next, it’s January and suddenly opening that same laptop feels like hard labour.

With sunglasses still on, a sun hat in place and a random vuvuzela, Themba shows just how different you feel when you return to work after weeks of switching off. Now the beach days are over and the inbox is full. After all those weeks of tanning, enjoying malva pudding and attending braais everyday it’s now time to be a functioning member of society once again.

It’s a moment many South Africans are relating to right now, especially in these first few weeks of the year when everyone is slowly easing back into work.

Logging out in December and logging back in in January? Two very different people.

Whether we’re ready or not, January has arrived with emails, meetings and responsibilities. Kind regards to everyone slowly finding their feet again.

This week, the poddie looks back on a season defined by courage, compassion and comedy, with guests who turned microphones into mirrors of the South African spirit.

South Africa (31 December 2025) – It started as audio. It turned into a journey. And in 2025, it became something that felt like a home… a place where South Africans show up to tell their stories, share their humour, unpack their heartbreak and remind us all what goodness sounds like.

This week, on ‘Good Things with Brent Lindeque’, we’re celebrating the year that changed everything and spotlighting the voices that made this season unforgettable.

It’s the New Year’s episode… a look back at 2025.

A year where a podcast that started 11 years ago levelled up. Not just in production or in reach but in purpose. This year, Good Things went from a poddie to a poddie-and-viddie. Cameras switched on. Conversations deepened. The audience grew. And the response has been nothing short of incredible.

“I have been podcasting for 11 years now. It’s how I started my career. This year, we levelled up the poddie by adding video. And it has been unreal. Absolutely fantastic. And we’ve interviewed the most amazing guests. So I’m looking back.”

And what a year to look back on.

There were conversations that held space for the soft and the serious. Helen Nicholson joined to talk about beating burnout and building resilience, a conversation that reminded so many listeners to take themselves off the back burner. Danny Painter arrived with honesty and vulnerability, getting real about grief, healing, and her life after loss, proof that pain can be a starting point, not a defeat. There was laughter that felt like medicine. Themba Robin brought humour and heart in equal measure, Barry Hilton reminded us why he remains comedy royalty, and Suzelle DIY sprinkled chaos and charm like only she can. The episodes felt like visits with friends, not interviews. And then the conversations that felt like landmarks. Robbie Brozin speaking about rebuilding Joburg, not from a place of despair, but from belief. South African business legends shared their lessons learned the hard way. Charities spoke about the important work they do. And TikTok superstars stepped off the screen to talk about the responsibility of influence and what it means to build a platform with intention.

“This year has been the best. 2025 has been unreal. And I have had all the fun. Thank you for allowing me to do what I get to do.”

This podcast is proof that South Africans are not waiting for permission to do good things. They are doing them already. Every guest, every story, every episode is another important conversation about who we are when we choose hope over cynicism.

“It’s only going to get bigger and better in 2026.”

So, as the year turns and the calendar shifts, one thing remains clear: the good news is not slowing down. The stories are waiting. The guests are lining up. The cameras are ready. And South Africa… there is so much more to come.

Happy New Year. May 2026 meet you with courage, laughter, connection and opportunities that feel made just for you. The journey continues and the best chapters are still ahead.

“No secrets in this bag”, the comedian uses humour to showcase South Africans’ unique way of responding to current events.

South Africa (05 December 2025) – Themba Robin, known for his witty takes on everyday South African life, has struck again, this time weighing in on what the nation is calling the “accountability bag.” The buzz comes from Woolworths’ new clear shopping bags. Themba zeroes in on the public’s reaction and the bags. In his video, Themba highlights how these clear bags leave nothing to the imagination.

“Look at this bag. This bag holds no secrets. If you put 50 bucks in here, it probably calls the Hawks itself.”

Another clip shows him carrying an oversized version of the original bag, making it look almost comically huge, and drawing attention to the way South Africans respond to current events. All with a mixture of humour and in this case, disbelief.

It’s a moment that captures South Africans’ unique way of responding to current events.

October is weird. Comedian Themba-Robin has read the room and made a catchy tune about it!

South Africa (23 October 2025) – October has a reputation for being over-the-top. Out of all twelve months, it’s the one that feels most like walking uphill. It’s a bladdy steep incline too. November is the last stretch. It comes with a little boost, as Dezemba vibes decide to rock up a few days early.

But October? It’s like the twilight zone. The place where Halloween and Christmas fight for attention. They’re like siblings battling it out for first prize while we, the parents, are just crawling over to the finish line of whichever deadline or duty that crops up next, before we can slip into our holiday pant and drink cocktails.

Be honest. Right now, you’re just trying your best not to polish that bag of sweets you’ve been saving for the kids’ Halloween thing. And you’re about to start dodging baubles that want to lob you in the face at the shop, as Mariah and Boney M give you a proper earworm (it’s coming friends, be prepared).

If ‘pushing through’ this wacky month were an Olympic sport, we’d all be gold medalists.

South African comedian Themba-Robin knows that feeling well, and he put it in a song. Here you go.

South Africans have rugby in their blood and in their baby names!

South Africa (08 October 2025) – I mean, how could we not? Our national team is a four-time World Cup champion. No, we’ll never get tired of saying that.

Rugby isn’t just a sport; it’s a way of life. Weekends revolve around it. Our moods rise and fall with the Bokke. And let’s be honest with each other, we don’t just follow the matches, we keep tabs on the players’ personal lives too.

The Springboks and, by extension, their families are often in the headlines. We’d even argue that keeping up with the WAGS could be considered a sport of its own…and South Africans would take gold.

Between this year and last, we’ve seen a record number of Bok milestones off the field. Babies born (and still on the way), knots tied, new chapters started. Being a part of these moments – even just by reading about them and keeping up with the champion families from afar – makes us feel even more connected to our heroes. Like they’re extended cousins or something.

That connection runs so deep it even shows up in our baby names!

South Africans have always had a habit of naming children after icons we admire, and the Springboks are no exception.

Which is why Themba-Robin’s latest comedy sketch had us in stitches. He imagines a routine classroom roll call in eight year’s time, when today’s Bok-inspired babies are finally sitting at their desks.

“Morne Bongi Burger. Refilwe Faffie-Venter. Paulleen Pollard-Peterson. Mhlongo Steyn Marx Mokoena. Nandi Etzebela Dlamini. Michaela Mapimpi Swart.”

We cackled. And honestly? It doesn’t even feel that far-fetched. Watch below:

Can you imagine having to put together an entire presentation to convince your toddler to eat a chicken sandwich? Welcome to parenthood! Comedian Themba Robin hilariously captures this daily struggle in one of his latest videos, and it’s a cracker.

Johannesburg, South Africa (14 September 2025) – Oh, but kids will humble you! Sure, they’re an adorable joy, but once they hit that toddler stage, trust and believe they’ll test the depths of your patience.

Sharing his take on the joys (and hair-pulling moments) of being a dad to a toddler was Comedian Content Creator, Themba Robin, in one of his hilarious skits.

In the clip, he’s seen playing a scenario of pitching a chicken sandwich to his toddler in an office-style presentation, indicating that he and his team (his wife and himself) had been working around the clock to get it ready for him. He goes on to ask what his toddler thinks – setting the tone for his incoming headache.

The toddler version of Themba doesn’t hold back his criticisms, questioning the “green stuff” (the rocket), the chicken itself and even the bread crusts, leaving Themba the dad sweating under his collar.

Not stopping there, the toddler asked not to be treated like he was born two and a half years ago, even though he was, and even demanded that his bread be cut in a certain way, which Themba, the dad, obviously got wrong, inevitably killing the whole presentation.

The toddler concluded on settling for chicken nuggets, possibly followed by a banana, in the company of his stuffed toy, Mr Hoppy.

You know you’re a parent when the toughest pitch of your life is convincing your toddler to eat a balanced meal in one sitting while trying desperately to keep your cool.

With close to 60k views on Facebook and almost 26k on Instagram, Themba’s video proved a hit with those with kids and those without, praising his accurate portrayal of the drama that these little people can cause, along with his witty banter.

His ability to make us laugh while reminding us who we are is what makes Themba Robin a voice for the nation… literally and figuratively.

South Africa (03 June 2025) – This week on Good Things with Brent Lindeque, we’re bringing you something truly special… the kind of story that’ll make you smile from ear to ear, laugh out loud and feel just a little bit prouder to be South African. Because this week, we’re sitting down with Themba Robin… the hilarious, kind, proudly South African voice behind some of the funniest content on your screen.

Whether you’ve seen him playfully narrating life like it’s a wildlife documentary or heard his iconic voiceovers on your favourite radio and TV ads, chances are, Themba has already brightened your day without you even knowing it.

Known by many as “South Africa’s David Attenborough” (and yes, he wears that nickname like a badge of honour), Themba’s knack for delivering laugh-out-loud moments with clever, thoughtful humour is what makes him a standout talent in the local creative scene. But it’s not just about the giggles. His comedy has heart. It makes you think. It connects us to each other, and to this chaotic, beautiful country we call home.

Raised in the friendly city of Gqeberha (formerly PE) and now a proud Jo’burger, Themba is more than just a viral content creator or voiceover artist for the country’s biggest brands. He’s a dad, and a businessman, and a proud South African, and an all round lekker guy.

So why is this a good thing? Because people like Themba remind us that there’s still so much to laugh about. So much to celebrate. So much light in the everyday. Whether it’s poking fun at our load-shedding survival techniques or narrating potholes like they’re part of the Serengeti, his talent brings people together in joy and shared experience. And that kind of impact matters.

Themba’s story, and his success, is proof that when you mix authenticity, talent, and a good heart… you can uplift a nation.

And honestly, we’re all better for it.

South African comedian Themba Robin has done it again, leaving the nation in stitches with his latest viral skit—this time hilariously pitching the controversial pandemic “Ambulance Scooters” on Dragons Den UK in a side-splitting spoof that perfectly captures our unique sense of humour.

Johannesburg, South Africa (15 October 2024) – South Africans are no strangers to turning challenging situations into moments of laughter and this latest video by local comedian Themba Robin is a shining example of that spirit.

In a hilarious twist, Themba took to the global stage of Dragons’ Den UK (well, sort of) to pitch the now-famous “Ambulance Scooters”—and the internet can’t stop laughing!

Known for his witty skits and comedic genius, Themba has gained a huge following on social media for his ability to tackle everyday issues with humour that resonates deeply with South Africans. Whether it’s poking fun at load shedding or doing parody interviews, his content always delivers a much-needed laugh.

And, once again, he isn’t disappointing us!

In his latest comedic masterpiece, Themba spliced real footage from Dragons’ Den UK, inserting himself into the scene as an enthusiastic entrepreneur pitching a wild idea—Ambulance Scooters. For those unfamiliar, the concept of ambulance scooters was introduced during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in South Africa. These scooters, “designed” to navigate through congested areas more quickly than traditional ambulances, sparked a lot of controversy, with many questioning their practicality and effectiveness. While some (mostly in government) saw it as a necessary solution in a time of crisis, others couldn’t help but poke fun at the idea.

Of course, Themba’s take on it is pure gold! In the video, he confidently pitches the scooters to the Dragons, highlighting their “sleek” design and “innovative” purpose. The result? A mash-up of serious business talk and absurdity that had viewers crying with laughter. The editing is so spot-on that it feels as though the Dragons are genuinely (not) considering this offbeat pitch.

The video has gone viral, and the reaction on social media is priceless!

“My aunt sleeps with the Minister of Transport….. I’m on the floor.”

“Only a true South African could understand this humour.”

“This made my day! 😂 Us South Africans survive on humour!”

“That almost made me pee my pants!”

So, if you’re in need of a good laugh today, do yourself a favour and watch the video—it’s guaranteed to brighten your day and leave you in stitches.
